So Twisted

Academia, Part II

I could watch the jellies all day. If I was some kind of Bond-villain,
I think I'd have large tanks of jellies to calm me down after a hard
day of evil and world domination.

This should give some idea of how crowded the Academy was today.

Academia

The California Academy of Sciences, in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

Waiting in line with all of the other cheapskates on free-admission
"Wachovia Wednesday". The line was about 45 minutes long.

Overheard in line, "people riding the 'culture bus' should be wearing
top hats and monocles".

The new roof/launching pad.

The new atrium/dining room.

The new rainforest-in-a-jar. A kind of terrarium you can walk around
in. I wanted to see this, but the line looked to be another 45 minutes
long. Next time.

The only dinosaur on duty today.

Wonder what kind of whale that is. Was.

The "living roof". The section to the left is the roof of the atrium and
the "hill" to the right is the roof of the "rainforest".  I think.

The view from the "living roof". The bandshell on the left is undergoing
more renovation. The large building in the center is the De Young Museum of Art.
